The Brave Little Ferryboats tells the true story of how the famous Liverpool Ferries the Royal Daffodil and Royal Iris became known as Royal. Many people believe they were awarded the title after Dunkirk, when it was actually awarded to them for the service they performed for their country at the WW1 battle of Zeebrugge.
The book has appeal for all age groups, children love the bright fabric illustrations and the simplicity of the story. Adults interested in history or stitching find both the story and the embroideries fascinating, in particular the 'Did You Know?' section at the back which also has an original photograph of the armour-plated ferries on their return from Zeebrugge.
It is a happy book that has been a four year labour of love. The book will both move you and make you smile. If you are not in the UK & would like to order a copy of the book, please contact me to arrange postage.
Thanks for looking.
